Classroom News

As we approach the unprecedented school closing for health reasons, please know that we did everything possible to prepare your children for an online education. All assignments will be placed daily in Google Classroom and should be completed and marked as "done". We will be using this information for attendance purposes. I have "office hours" for any student that may need help or require assistance with math or social studies. Each class has been assigned one hour of office time, these times coincide with the schedule that I sent home today. At those times, I will be available in Google Hangout to help anyone who requires it. Also, please feel free to contact me through email if you have any questions about passwords, homework, or if you need technical help. The students were shown how to access both Classroom and Hangout, again, please contact me if they need any help.
Stay safe and healthy!
Please send in your permission slips for both the Liberty Science Center trip (with $22 please) and our trip to Thorne to see Willy Wonka. Thank you!
As we move through the second chapter on fractions, the students need to be fluent in the times tables to get through this chapter successfully. It is never to late to learn! Please work with your child on the times tables. A few minutes each night can go a long way in mastering this skill.
More important then ever: Please remind your child to wash his/her hands frequently during the day. Please watch the following video:

I am available to meet at any time to go over any questions or concerns that may you may have during the school year.
Please help your children with fluency in the times tables by working with
them for a few minutes every night. Flashcards are a great resource for this and can be done easily during some down time in the evening. A few minutes of practice will go a long way in helping your child achieve much needed fluency in math.
Have a nice weekend!
